Denison is the county seat to Crawford County, located in Southwest Iowa. Omaha Nebraska, Des Moines and Sioux City Iowa are within 1 ½ to 2 hours drive where many people go for a day of shopping.
Denison has not been affected by the recession hosting a 4% unemployment. The two largest employers are Farmland Foods and Tyson, employing over 2,000 people. On the average, the various business, seek to fill over 100 jobs each day. The job listings will range in skill level and educational requirements. Denison has also been seeking new avenues for continued growth and is very fertile for entrepreneurs who are willing to begin a new business.
Denison has a rich heritage dating back to 1856 when Jesse Denison founded the city. The following year in 1857 Jesse founded the Denison Baptist Church, Pastoring the Church for 6 years. and is also the founder
Culturally, Denison has been undergoing change. Within the last the Hispanic population has grown from 17% to 43%. This cultural change has opened the door for the Sudanese and Miramar (Burmese) to move in and make Denison home.

Jesus said “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”. This truth fits Denison. There are many opportunities that exist for us but the challenge is the lack of workers. We enjoy the support of the city and county leaders, voicing their help for the success of the Church. The people in the community are anxious for the Church to be of help in meeting the needs of the community.
